New halogen-free polyamide grades

The German materials producer BASF has developed two new flame retardant polyamide (PA) grades that have been commercialized under the trade names Ultramid® A3X4G7 and Ultramid® A3UG5. Free of halogen, these new grades suit notably for household appliances. Ultramid® A3X4G7 is a 35% glass fiber reinforced PA-6,6 that is particularly lightweight. As for Ultramid A3UG5, it is a 25% glass fiber reinforced PA. It is lighter than Ultramid® A3X4G7 and it has been developed for electrical and electronic applications.
