U.S. antimony trioxide market keeps stable

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 6 Jun 07 – While European antimony market started to drop, U.S. market participants reported that 99.5%min antimony trioxide remains stable at USD2.35-2.40/lb delivered to customer.

A US trader confirmed the price range to Asian Metal, and he added that the demand and traded volume are the same compare to the previous years. “American customers are not very sensitive to the price as they buy when they need the material.”
The U.S. market has a different structure compare to the European market. “We have several major distributors, and they always have material in stock, so the consumers will not worry about short of inventories. That’s how U.S. market could keep stable.”

As there is no antimony trioxide producer in U.S., the consumers purchase antimony trioxide from China and Europe, and the prices are the same.

Another trader informed Asian Metal the same price of 99.5%min antimony trioxide at around USD2.35/lb d.d.p. “The price is the same as what we offered to our customers in the passed two month.” He believes price will not change in the near further as most American companies does not close in the summer.
