New flame retardant system for films

Until now flame-retardant systems available for film applications yielded opaque films. The American firm Polymer Product, a specialist in additives, masterbatches and flame resistant compounds, has developed a new translucent flame retardant system for films that allows to produce films with high vibrant colors. This new product namely Endura® FR-6973 that is based on a proprietary technology can be used at 10-15% let down ratio with either low density polyethylene (ldPE) or linear low density polyethylene (lldPE) while providing light transmission over 85%. Moreover Endura® FR-6973 can be used in combination with acid resistant UV stabilizers.
